We are thrilled to announce the launch of the “High Five Fund”!

Gone are the days of your Room Parent asking you to donate to your teacher’s holiday gift, teacher appreciation class gift, end of year gift and birthday gift! No more sign-up geniuses for you to purchase and bring in items for class holiday parties, Halloween parties, Valentines parties and End of Year parties!

The “High Five Fund” has been created to streamline the number of monetary asks that Room Parents make throughout the year. Instead, there will be a one-time ask at the beginning of the year of $75 per child at Sequoya. If you are unable to give $75 per child, please consider whatever monetary amount you are comfortable with. Moving forward, the only time your Room Parent will be asking for any donation will be if you would like to participate in your child’s/children’s Class Basket which is 100% optional.

The “High Five Fund” will provide the following*

  • Holiday Gift Card to every teacher and staff member
  • Teacher Appreciation Gift Card to every teacher
  • Birthday Gift Card to every teacher and staff member (summer birthdays will be
given in May before school breaks)
  • Funding for every grade level party throughout the year (i.e. Holiday Party, Valentines Party, End of Year Party, 1st Grade Mad Scientist Party, Kindergarten Veggie Tasting Party, 4th Grade Poetry Party, 5th Grade Brunch, etc.)

*The “High Five Fund” will only be allocated to teacher/staff gifts and classroom/grade level school parties. Money collected for the “High Five Fund” will not be allocated to anything outside of these initiatives. This is separate from the money raised by the APT.

**Parents are more than welcome to give their teacher(s) gifts on their own if they would like, but please know that it will no longer be organized as a class wide ask.

How it Works:

  • Each parent logs onto Membership Toolkit and donates their desired amount (recommended $75 per student).
  • Each donation will be tracked, monitored and allocated appropriately by the APT Treasurer.
  • The APT will be responsible for purchasing and distributing all teacher and staff gifts (Holiday, Birthday, Teacher Appreciation).
  • APT will inform each Room Parent in mid-September of their class/grade party budget for the entire school year. The budget will be broken down by individual party as a guide, but the Room Parent has the liberty to shift dollars among the parties. If the Room Parent has a concern about any party budget they are encouraged to raise their concern with the APT Treasurer.
  • Room Parents will purchase all items for the class/party and the APT Treasurer will reimburse the Room Parent once receipts are provided. Should any Room Parent not be able to purchase the party items ahead of time they should reach out to the Treasurer and the APT will purchase the items on their behalf.
  • Under no circumstance should the Room Parent ask their classroom for additional donations (both monetarily or physical items).
  • Any remaining “High Five Fund” that aren’t spent by the end of the school year will be rolled over into the ‘27/’28 “High Five Fund” budget (we don’t anticipate any sizeable or significant amount will not be fully spent).

Your family information must be up to date to view the checkout page. It should list each child at Sequoya. If you haven't added your children and/or their teacher yet, please do that first so everything is allocated correctly.
