Art Masterpiece is an opportunity for you to spend time in your child’s classroom, sharing beautiful pieces of art.
You give a short presentation about the artist and the piece of art you’ve chosen to present, and then you let the kids use that information to create beautiful artworks of their own. Not an artist? You don’t have to be! We have everything you need to help you be successful, and we’ll tell you exactly what to do. All you have to do today is contact your Room Parent or contact VP of Arts Emera Greig at arts@sequoyaapt.com, and we’ll give you a call or send you an email to give you all the details.
Art Masterpiece depends on volunteers to be successful and our goal is to insure that every classroom has presenters this year. It’s a minimum time commitment that produces maximum results. Sequoya kids love Art Masterpiece. We think you will, too! Your children’s artwork will be showcased at next year’s annual Art Walk for everyone to enjoy! Please see volunteer opportunities below!
Please see below when deciding which volunteer opportunity to select.
We are hoping for 4 total volunteers per class (3 individual projects/ 1 collaborative art project).
- Individual: Each student will create the same artwork inspired by the artist of your choosing
- Collaborative: Students will work together to create one art masterpiece inspired by the artist of your choosing.
- Collaborative pieces will be auctioned off at our annual Art Walk (date TBD - end of April 2026).
Parents will coordinate directly with their teachers on day/ time they would like to come in and do a quick presentation about their artist to the students and then help facilitate the art project part of the lesson. You can decide what artist you would like to do. If you are interested in doing the collaborative project for your class, you’re welcome to partner up with another parent or add another family member to volunteer with you to assist on the project. The collaborative art project will be a combined art project where all of the students will work together to complete ONE masterpiece. The collaborative project will be showcased at our Art Walk in April and opened up for silent auction
